PPM Power and Performance Measures

PPM Power and Perfomance Measures is a series of nine separate tests that can be used effectively within recruitment and career development. They are particularly beneficial when assessing management potential. By adopting PPM Power and Performance measures PTS have assisted organisations with their management and leadership development, succession planning and outplacement.

PPM Power tests measure ways of reasoning which do not change over time. PPM Performance tests assess aptitude rather than actual performance.

Power Measures:

Applied Power Test of logical reasoning
Verbal Reasoning Tests use of judgement to draw conclusions from information
Numerical Reasoning Tests understanding of relationships between sets of numbers
Perceptual Reasoning Test of reasoning based upon non-language principles

Performance Measures:

Verbal Comprehension Tests understanding of meaning of words
Numerical Comprehension Tests four rules of arithmetic
Spatial Ability Tests ability to manipulate shapes (often deemed to be the purest test of ability as it requires the ability to think outside of the box)
Mechanical Understanding Test how well one understands how mechanical things work
Processing Speed Test to see how quickly and accurately one can work
